What’s New in DAS7
For existing customers of Data Access Studio™, Version 7 (DAS7) offers exciting new features to the product that you already know and love. For users of Version 6, Version 7 will be very familiar as most elements of the existing user interface remain the same. The following is a brief highlight of what is new in Version 7.
For more detail, please see the Version History Document.
Mobie is the new product offering from ReportsNow for publishing and managing a Web site of beautiful, interactive dashboards that allow businesses to make better business decisions on a daily basis. DAS7 includes the design environment for creating dashboards that can be published to mobie. The ability to create dashboards is included in Version 7 and if you want to take it to the next step, you can purchase mobie to make them available to any Web or mobile user that you wish, even users that are not JD Edwards users. See here for more about mobie.
If you are using Automator today, you know how wonderful it is to schedule reports to just show up in your Inbox when you need them. In fact, many customers have been using Automator so much that we got the message that you needed more tools and features to better manage the workload. Data Access Studio Version 7 introduces the following additional capabilities:
- Multiple queues to run more than one job at a time
- Run Automator jobs on multiple servers (additional licensing)
- Recovery for missed or failed jobs
- Terminate a running task
- View historical information about jobs and logs directly from DAS7
Have you ever looked at an existing report and wondered how all the calculations are related to one another? Well, Version 7 has some exciting updates to the calculation editor just for you:
- Show dependencies with a tree-like view
- Debug a row or cell in your report by showing evaluated calculation values
- Disable calculations that are not yet complete
Workspace Tabbed View
Version 7 introduces a new and convenient way to organize your workspace as a set of tabs.
Publish to Folder
Many of our existing customers told us that it was important for them to be able to select the public folder that they wanted to publish a report to rather than require a folder administrator to place it there. This capability was added in Version 7.
